One of the most important things to understand about PHP is what it actually looks like day to day. This is not a weekly check-in or a single therapy appointment. PHP involves multiple hours of structured programming each day, several days per week, delivered by experienced behavioral health professionals.
At Liberty House Outpatient, PHP is built around evidence-based therapies and individualized treatment planning. What that means in practice:
Individual therapy gives clients dedicated time with a clinician to explore the personal history, thought patterns, and circumstances that contribute to their substance use. Sessions are focused on developing insight and practical skills, not simply reviewing the past week.
Group therapy is a core component of PHP and offers both therapeutic structure and a sense of shared experience. Groups address topics including relapse prevention, emotional regulation, triggers, communication, and healthy coping strategies.
Psychoeducation helps clients build a working understanding of addiction as a behavioral health condition—how it develops, how it affects decision-making and relationships, and what recovery looks like in practical terms.
Co-occurring support, when clinically appropriate, addresses the relationship between substance use and emotional or mental health concerns. These concerns can influence one another, and treatment that addresses both tends to be more effective than treating either in isolation.
Ongoing treatment plan review ensures that care continues to reflect each client’s progress, challenges, and evolving recovery goals. Treatment at Liberty House Outpatient is not static—it adjusts as the individual does.
